Physician · Builder · Healthcare AI
I'm Jason Trickovic — full-time family physician, assistant professor, and healthcare AI builder. I'm co-investigator on a CIHR-funded randomized controlled trial on AI-generated patient education. I was the Family Medicine Clinical Lead for the DAX Copilot rollout at The Ottawa Hospital. I'm building an AI literacy curriculum for residents and faculty. And I'm prototyping tools to fix what's broken in medicine — in practice and in training.
See what I've builtAbout
I practice full-time family medicine in Ottawa, hold an appointment at the University of Ottawa Department of Family Medicine, and train the next generation of family physicians as a clinical preceptor. That's the clinical half.
The other half: I'm co-investigator on a CIHR-funded randomized controlled trial on AI-generated patient education — protocol accepted at BMJ Open. I was Family Medicine Clinical Lead for the DAX Copilot rollout at The Ottawa Hospital, part of a broader implementation team representing FM physicians on the ground. I'm building and implementing an AI literacy curriculum for residents and faculty. And I'm prototyping tools to fix the parts of medicine — in practice and in training — that haven't been touched yet.
The piezoelectric effect transforms mechanical pressure into usable electrical energy. That's the metaphor for this work: taking the pressures of modern medicine and turning them into something useful.

The Concept
"Piezoelectric materials convert mechanical pressure into electrical power. Healthcare is under immense pressure. The question is whether we can transform that pressure into intelligence that actually helps."
This site is about that conversion. Taking the pressures of modern medicine — burnout, access barriers, information overload, admin burden — and building AI that does something useful about them. Not hype. Not promises. Real work, carefully studied, honestly shared.
